I only started to learn how to cook when I left home to further my studies at College. I guess this is one of the most popular way to learn how to cook or in other words to force yourself to learn how to cook to survive. :D You know, when you are away from home, takeaway or eating out all the time is just not the best option, after a while you get tired with the food plus it usually not a very healthy way of eating.
Being away from home is really difficult, especially when you are living and working in a country where the culture is totally different from your country. So, from time to time, I really miss my mom's cooking and those local Sabahan food. I really hate this feeling, you miss it and you cant get it anything taste like the dishes back home over here... :(
Mm... talking about food, I was craving for "Wonton" last few days. I guess everyone knows about this dish, a type of dumpling which can be found in many Chinese Restaurants. It is a very easy dish to make, which is why I like about it, not much of a major cooking needed. :D The main filling is made of minced pork, coarsely diced prawn, finely minced onion, a bit of sesame oil, soy sauce and of course the Wonton Wrapper which you can get it from any of the supermarkets.
I know you can get "Wonton" at any of the Chinese Restaurants or even frozen Wonton from the supermarkets. But, the thing is it tastes different and healthy to make it yourself. So, I went to bought to the Asian Market and bought the ingredients for the Wonton and decided to make it today.
It doesn't take me long to make this really, within an hour, I have it prepared, cooked and ready to eat! :D Oh yes, even managed to snap a few shots of my home made wonton..hehehe.. (Note: Wonton is a non halal dish).

My home made wonton before I bring it to boil. Actually, there are many ways to cook it, you can either deep fried or boiled it. I preferred to serve in boiled as it is more tasty and healthy. ( since I am on my diet program now.. so deep fried is definitely not the best option as well..hehehe)

Tadahh.. this is how it looks like after I boiled it. :D Some people like to eat like that and some of them preferred to have it together with soup or noodle soup. As for me, I dont mind really, as long as it is wonton, I can finish it all...hahaha..
